Fall Fashion Trends for Women

Sophistication is going to be the keyword, when it comes to fall fashion this year. As always, bright colors will make a bold statement on the fashion horizon. This season is going to witness a comeback of some long forgotten styles, while some styles will be gone for good. Layers and earthy colors will rule the fashion trends for women this fall. Let's forecast the fall fashion trends in each category.

Fall Fashion Trends for Women

Fabrics
Leather and velvet are the two fabrics that'll completely dominate the world of fabrics. Be it short skirts, leggings, dresses, pants or jackets, leather will be seen everywhere. On the other hand velvet will give that much-needed classy and feminine touch to your wardrobe. It won't be looked down as a girly fabric, instead it will emerge as a new face of sophistication. So do not forget to stock your wardrobe with elegant velvet dresses.

Colors
Fall is all about colors, naturally fashion trends will also reflect this natural phenomenon. Like always, red, orange and yellow will be a huge hit. However, red will undergo a slight make over and will present itself in blue undertones. Deep yellow will be a preferred choice over the brighter one. Orange will remain as vibrant as ever. Similarly, earthy shades like gray, deep purple, royal blue will be sought after as well.

Styles and Cut
Layers, frills and pleats, will all be there, this season as well. One shoulder dresses will make a bold appearance almost everywhere, from socialite events to awards functions (thanks to Michelle Obama, who wore it at inauguration ball and made it an instant hit). Accordion pleat tops will make a comeback yet again to make a sensuous style statement. These pretty necklines suit almost everyone as they do not reveal anything beyond what is required!

Footwear
Thigh-high boots will make their presence felt yet again. These sexy boots have the potential to change a girl next door into an absolutely stunning diva. You can choose from suede or leather, flat or high-heeled shoes. Similarly, ankle length faux fur trimmed shoes will also become quite popular. From lace up sandals to mid calf, flat shoes to stilettos, this fall will offer everything to pacify even the most fussiest of the fashionistas.

Accessories
This season, focus will be on accentuating the thin waist with large, clear belts. Accessories, especially bags, will flaunt a lot of bling with sequined embellishment and loads of other glitzy decorations. Accessories would be mostly designed to go with the dress, as monotonous look would be the 'in' thing, this fall.

Broad shoulder jackets and fur stoles will dominate the fashion scene for women over 40. Similarly, fall women over 50 should go for military pieces, capes and cloaks. The overall trend would be to look mature and not desperately try to look younger.

Fashion trends are going to be difficult to predict, as we are going to see a little bit of everything, this fall. Though, sophistication is going to be the ruling factor, 'disco' influenced styles are definitely going to make their presence felt. Also, recession won't affect the taste of true fashionistas and the inclination towards buying designer wear will stay this season as well.

Making Fashion Affordable

You Don't Need Expensive Clothes to be Successful
Many fashion retailers, particularly those targeting higher income shoppers, may seem hopelessly out of range if you don't have a pile of disposable income to spend on whatever you want. Although many of us would very much like to be able to buy jeans in the $100-$200 range, this really isn't a possibility for many average people. Unfortunately, media outlets like television, fashion magazines, and advertisements encourage women and men alike to strive to afford higher-end fashion. Society teaches us that if we are worrying about the price of our fashion choices, we are not successful. You can also have a look at how is glamor affecting our daily lives.

The Perils of Spending Too Much
This message works very well as a marketing message for the more expensive fashion brands, because it creates a sense of guilt or shame in those of us who can't normally afford clothes from ritzy mall stores. So, if we choose to shop at lower end retailers instead, we are doing the right thing financially but we are encouraged by media messages to feel bad about ourselves for making this choice. In order to feel more successful and stylish, some of us end up shopping at high-end stores even though we can't necessarily afford it. This leads to financial trouble, such as credit card debt, later on. The situation can be very difficult to remedy once we have developed a habit of purchasing expensive clothes, however. Moving from too-pricey stores to lower end ones only compounds the shame that we have learned to feel.

There is No Shame in Seeking Help
How can we escape this strange situation? If you are interested in fashion and want to look your best and look current without making sacrifices that could get you into trouble later on, what are your options? Before considering the answers to these questions, it needs to be said that if you think you have a shopping problem or an addiction to expensive fashion brands, you should consider seeking help. Rather than being ashamed of your failures, find someone you can talk to about this issue and who will guide you in finding a compromise that is sustainable in your life. There is no shame in asking for a problem when you find you are embroiled in a situation that has gotten out of control.

Consider Consignment
As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. There are several things you can do to avoid falling into the trap of living outside your means, especially when it comes to fashion. Consignment stores can be a great resource, for example. A consignment shop sells very gently used clothing and often carries high fashion brands at very low prices. Good consignment stores are classy and are usually staffed by people who know the fashion world inside and out. Look around in your area for a consignment shop and save yourself a pretty penny without sacrificing your image. As a bonus, you can sometimes sell your gently used items to the store to get an even bigger discount.

Coupons are Worth it!
Another way to make expensive fashion affordable on your budget is to collect coupons. When it comes to groceries, it can be difficult and time-consuming to make coupons truly worthwhile, but coupons can be great for the mall. Most stores have a mailing list you can sign up for to receive coupons in the mail or online. Make sure to sign up for the mailing list at all of your favorite shopping spots, and you are likely to find great deals on any given day. Be careful not to let coupons convince you to buy more than you can afford! Look for coupons that give a dollar amount discount with no limit. For example, if you get a coupon for $25 with no obligation to spend more than that, you can either get a $25 for free or 25% off a $100 item. Discard coupons worth less than 15%, you can do better!

Set a Budget
No matter where you shop, remember to set yourself a fashion budget. Be realistic about how much you can afford to spend on clothes each season, and stick to it! When you know what your fashion budget is, you can make choices more wisely. Maybe you will decide to get cheaper accessories so you can afford a higher end top, or vice versa. This type of consideration is only possible if you are up front with yourself about your budget so you can look your best without going broke!

Impeccable Fashion Tips For Women's Clothing

Fashion and women are almost inseparable. Women need to be well aware of their figure type in order to dress appropriately and aesthetically. Every woman tends to have some positives and negatives about their body. However, with proper clothing and dressing women are able to accentuate their figure highlights and cover up their flaws. Here are few tips that would enable women to categorize them in these figure types.

•    Pear shaped women are in plenty. These women tend to be rounded that are heavier on their hips and lower part of the body. These women however do not have a broad upper portion. Printed shirts, tops, straight skirts and V-necks are ideal for such women.

•    Apple shaped women are just the opposite of the pear shaped. This is due to the fact that these women tend to have a heavy upper body with bulky waistline and heavy bust line. These women need to be extremely careful with their shirts, tops and other piece of upper clothing. V-necks are the most suitable necklines that would really suit these women. Petite figured girls and women are extremely short and therefore it is important to pick clothing that would make these women look taller and elongated. Rectangle shaped women tend to have quite good figure. Gypsy skirts, full skirts, patterns and dresses are perfect for these women.

•    Hourglass shaped women have the best looking figures. It is the body type that all women crave to have. These women have nothing to worry as all kinds of dresses and clothing suits them really well. Fitted jeans, halters and straight trousers tend to highlight their figure.

Understanding the Strange Truths About Women's Clothing

Women aren't the only ones that are hard to read. Oftentimes, the clothes they wear are comparable to puzzles that are difficult to piece together. While many are annoyed with women's clothing, especially men, the manufacturers are partly to be blamed since they are the ones making the most baffling feminine clothes today.

Manufacturers and Women's Clothes
Designers and manufacturers make clothes that are just too thin. If you drop by at the clothing shops, you'll notice a lot of tight, form-fitting shirts being sold. Yes, thin clothes are the "in" thing now. Furthermore, pockets make the wearer at risk for bulkiness most especially if something is placed inside.

Clothes for women are too "cold!" Sleeveless clothing, backless, abs-showing shirts and those with plunging necklines are very common. It is not surprising why women have to bring along a matching jacket or blazer when wearing "cold" clothes. Despite the fact that the clothing industry is not really running short of materials to make their products, female clothes are just designed to be sexier when worn. To add, there are no regular female clothes and regular shirts unlike in the case for men.

Probably the most annoying part in the clothes that women wear is the need for instructions. If you haven't noticed it yet, women love to ask questions pertaining to the clothes they want to buy.

How to Wear Designer Clothing

For many women designer clothing is a distant dream, however if you look into incorporating designer products into your wardrobe rather than making your entire wardrobe designer focused, you will be pleasantly surprised on how much clothing you can afford.

Mix and matching is a style that people from all walks of the fashion industry are adopting, celebrities, stylists and creators themselves are pairing high-end designer products with high street items to create a more versatile and unique look.

This has made the designer clothing world more accessible to the masses by following in the footsteps of the celebrities seen in magazines, styling their expensive items with high-street basics and even high-street accessories.

This way you can experiment with high street items and take risks on the cheaper items rather than the investment pieces.

Whatever item you buy, you can pair it with high-street products to adopt the mix and match look. It is no longer a taboo to mix designer clothing with high-street items and so don't be afraid to embrace the trend. It helps give designer clothing a new lease of life as people are starting to pair items with a broader range of products, creating new looks.

Trends for Spring/Summer 2013 From New York Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is the highlight of all American fashion designers' lives. It happens twice a year and fills their weeks with joy, excitement, and nervousness all at the same time. For the attending fashionistas, it fills their minds with daydreaming and envy as they watch the models walking down the runway donning the garb they hope to wear in the upcoming seasons. Thus far, many designers have landed hits and several trends have been spotted. Some of which were expected while some have been somewhat surprising. Here are the top trends from the week!

The first big trend that was spotted would be floral. Last year we saw the reemergence of this forgotten pattern in small forms, but this year it has completely taken off. But what is so different about the trend this year? The size. The prints are big and bold whereas last year they were minute. Some experts have even compared the oversized appearance to a pattern that would be found on their grandmother's couches! So, say goodbye to the tiny petals of yesterday and hello to the new, bold flowers of today!

Another hot trend in the pattern department is the stripe. This design was seen in several collections and took on a variety of appearances throughout the week. Tommy Hilfiger gave stripes a very modern look by coloring them and placing them onto suits for women. However, designers like Alexander Wang and DKNY took a different approach with the pattern. They included off-white tones into the color palate, placed them on racer-backs, and added sheer layers over them. No matter what form they may take, stripes are guaranteed to be a frontrunner this spring.

While heavy patterns are racing to the front, we must not forget the always present spring "trend" of all-white. Every year, designers give their rendition of this spring staple and somehow manage to capture our hearts with it all over again. Maybe it is the uber chic look that it possesses or the awakening of our senses from the dull darks that surround wintertime; either way, the all-white trend continues. Victoria Beckham hit a home run in her attempt to tackle this look. Inspired by menswear, she used masculine shapes then balanced them with just enough leg to give them a feminine touch. Breathtaking.

Another color that took the runway by storm this year was aqua. It adorned exquisite gowns in shimmering metallics at the Monique Lhullier and Diane Von Furstenberg shows and found its way onto the taffeta of mermaid skirts in Zac Posen's collection. Different variations of the color were present, but they were all undeniably ocean themed, which is perfect for the beach-laden vacation season.

Another seasonal staple that was seen in a big way this year was the skirt. Pencils, peplums, crinolines, and tiers all made their appearance on the runways. Zac Posen took an especially dramatic approach and gave an old Hollywood feel to the ones featured in his collection.
